Derecho Recovery Tree Plantings A Success

A huge THANKS to Sacred Heart Elementary 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders and all the volunteers who assisted with the Central Park and Martelle Grant Wood Trail Section Derecho Recovery Tree Plantings held on September 30th and November 6th.   Native tree species including bitternut hickory, Kentucky coffee tree, honeylocust, American sycamore, silver maple, hackberry, and American plum were planted as well as the following oak tree species - black, pin, red, white, swamp, and bur.   Derecho recovery efforts will be ongoing through the next several years.
