The 2024 Platbooks have arrived!

These can be purchased in the Jones County Recorder's office for $28 each. If you need it mailed, the price will be $32 per book.

The Recorder's Office was created by the First Legislative Assembly of the Territory of Iowa in 1839.

About the Recorder's Office

The Recorder continues to maintain official records of documents affecting title to real estate. A significant portion of duties performed by the other county officials are dependent on the work performed by the County Recorder. In addition, we issue hunting and fishing licenses, register boats, snowmobiles, ATVs, ORVs and off-road motorcycles. Birth, Death, and Marriage records are maintained in the Recorder's Office along with issuing Marriage Licenses, certified copies of Vital Records, and passport pictures.
