Job Summary

The Jones County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Secretary/Matron.

You will be the first point of contact at the Sheriff's Office working directly with the public via phone and face-to-face. This is an environment of constant change. Must be able to juggle multiple tasks and be productive with interruptions.

Job Duties

        Primary responsibility is to process civil and criminal court papers in a timely manner. Accountable for recording and entering information into the computer, as well as, maintaining various financial accounts. Work must be completed with accuracy and attention to detail.

Job Qualifications

This is a full-time union position eligible for complete county benefits. Current wage range is $15.91 to $18.33 per hour, based on relevant experience and qualifications. Computer experience required.  Must be hard working, smart, dedicated and motivated.  Effective communication skills necessary along with a commitment to continual learning.
