Job Summary
The Jones County Secondary Roads Department is now accepting applications for the position of Roadside Technician. The position shall be responsible for the general implementation of activities associated with all aspects of vegetation management within county secondary road right-of-ways. Work activities focus on the continued maintenance and development of safe travel corridors for vehicles and biological management of desired vegetation types along those corridors.

Job Duties
Maintaining roadside vegetation using various treatment methods including but not limited to mechanical, mowing, prescribed burning, chemical application and competitive seeding. Assist with all aspects of weed and brush control program. Plowing snow during the winter season.
Job Qualifications
High school graduate, GED or equivalent. Post secondary education in biological sciences, wildlife management or a closely related subject is preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of practival work experience in a related field.
