HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE:

The Jones County Emergency Management Agency is finalizing its Hazard Mitigation Plan draft before submission to Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management and FEMA for review and approval. The plan assesses risks and vulnerabilities of natural hazards to the county, cities, and school districts. It provides recommendations to increase their hazard resiliency and reduce risk. In doing so, these actions aim to protect property and those who reside within the county.

Click HERE to download the DRAFT plan.  At this site you will pick if you are a citizen or governmental representative, and then after you click on Submit Form, it will take you to the draft document.

This DRAFT plan will be available for download until January 27, 2025 at 5:00 PM. We invite you over this timeframe to review and provide any input you may have, or ask any related questions. Please direct all inquires to: mitigation@tworiversem.com.
